Disabled Parking


Important Notice:  EARC Permanent Disabled Parking Permit Policy Change - Effective October 15, 2009

Accessible parking spaces are provided throughout the San José State University (SJSU) campus. Employees who wish to park in a marked disabled parking space on campus must have one of the following:

Note:  In conjunction with a DMV or EARC issued disabled license plate/parking placard, SJSU parking permits are required at all times.

How to Obtain an EARC Issued Disabled Parking Permit

 

To obtain an EARC issued disabled parking permit, employees must provide the EARC written, medical verification of a mobility impairment or functional limitation that substantially impacts ambulation. Written, medical verification must include:

If you do not currently have medical verification of your condition that includes the required information listed above, please refer to EARC's Forms webpage to obtain an EARC Parking Medical Verification Form, which is to be completed by your treating physician and submitted to the EARC for review of disabled parking eligibility.

 

Parking Lot Key Cards

 

A key card is necessary to gain access to Lot #1 located at 7th & San Fernando. To apply for a key card, employees must submit an application to Traffic and Parking Operations located in the 7th Street Garage. If the electronic gate malfunctions, you may contact the EARC by dialing 111 during business hours on the Lot#1 gate control key pad or use the gate control directory to contact the University Police Department (UPD) to gain access.
