Employees with Disabilities: Answers to Supervisory Workplace Questions

Co-Sponsored by the SJSU Office of Faculty Affairs, Employment Accommodation Resource Center (EARC), and the Human Resources department

April 2, 2008


In this workshop, department chairs, managers and supervisors will be provided with a practical understanding of managerial responsibilities as it pertains to supervising employees with disabilities.

 

The presentation will also examine the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Fair Employment Housing Act (FEHA), and the intersection of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Workers Compensation. A panel discussion with SJSU’s Employment Accommodation Resource Center and representatives from the Office of Faculty Affairs and the Human Resources department will follow. Participants will be provided with a reference workbook covering procedural and practical issues of general interest and concern to managers and supervisors. Each participant will receive a certificate recognizing their participation in “Employees with Disabilities: Answers to Supervisory Workplace Questions.”

 

Presenter, David K. Fram, Esq., a distinguished and widely recognized professional in the field of disability law, currently serves as the Director of the ADA & EEO Services at the National Employment Law Institute (NELI). Prior to NELI, Mr. Fram was Policy Attorney in the Office of Legal Counsel of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Washington, D.C. for five years.
